Albanian Landscape. This work is about how history, has left an imprint on both the physical landscape and the psyche of the people who inhabit it. A land of contrasts, a place of untouched beauty, but also a landscape scared and destroyed both from outside and within. "Human culture has inscribed itself on the earth's surface and made it into landscape. Landscape impresses itself on the faces, bodies and memories of the people who create and re-create it." Its people have faced numerous occupations, a system ruled by blood feuds, a division of land which left half its population outside of its homeland, a fifty year dictatorship that left a whole nation isolated from the world outside It is a landscape that manoeuvres in a shadow-land between forgetting and remembering.
