Travellers. Since the 1994 Criminal Justice Act criminalised all acts of trespass, the lifestyle of two travelling groups, the Roma and the so-called New-Age travellers, has been fundamentally threatened. Today 50% of all travelling people in Britain have been forced to settle. For those who continue to live on the road, with even fewer laws to protect them, many have found themselves the focus of discrimination and resentment. The pictures on this page focus on one family of New-Age travellers and their struggle to lead a life they believe is their right.
